Brandenburg ist bislang das einzige Bundesland ohne eigene öffentliche Hochschule für Bildende Kunst oder Musik. LUX antwortet auf diese strukturelle Leerstelle mit dem Entwurf einer transdisziplinären Akademie, die künstlerische, musikalische, handwerkliche und gestalterische Ausbildung langfristig im Land verankert.
Unlike almost every other German state, Brandenburg has no public university for music or visual arts. LUX addresses this structural gap with a transdisciplinary academy that provides a lasting home for artistic, musical, craft-based, and design education in the region.
Inspiriert vom Bauhaus und dem Black Mountain College soll am Bogensee bei Berlin eine Hochschule entstehen, in der Wahrnehmung (Aisthesis), Gestaltung und Verantwortung neu zusammengedacht werden – projektbasiert, ortsbezogen, transdisziplinär. In unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft der ADGB-Bundesschule Bernau, ein UNESCO-Welterbe des Bauhauses, steht LUX in der Tradition Wilhelm und Alexander von Humboldts — Bildung als zweckfreie Wahrnehmungsschulung (Aisthesis), Kunst, Handwerk und Wissenschaft als gleichrangige Erkenntnisformen — und knüpft an die brandenburgische Kulturgeschichte an: Schinkel, Pückler, Bach.
Inspired by the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College, an academy is to be established at Bogensee near Berlin where perception (aisthesis), design, and responsibility are fundamentally rethought — project-based, site-specific, transdisciplinary. In the immediate vicinity of the ADGB Federal School Bernau, a UNESCO World Heritage Bauhaus site, LUX follows the tradition of Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt — education as purposeless cultivation of perception (aisthesis), art, craft, and science as equal forms of knowledge — and connects to Brandenburg's cultural history: Schinkel, Pückler, Bach.
LUX versteht Bildung nicht als reine Wissensvermittlung, sondern als ko-kreative Praxis: Lernende, Lehrende, Handwerker, Künstlerinnen und Bürger arbeiten gemeinsam an realen Herausforderungen.

The Bogensee site is not a neutral place. Waldhof and education campus are shaped by 20th-century German history — and that makes it the ideal vital site for a democratic academy and excellence research in the area of human-nature relations.
